Radio Control Yacht Blocks
With the benefit of innovative design, coupled with computer-controlled manufacture, Hales Micro has raised the ball bearing model yacht block to a new level of technology, consistent with modern requirements.
Since model yacht racing takes place increasingly at marine venues, all metal parts are manufactured from corrosion resistant stainless steel. The side plates are recessed to suit the thinner high strength sheet lines now common in radio yachting.
Hales Micro blocks are now updated and improved with high tech ceramic balls in place of the stainless steel balls used previously. Ceramic balls are used in various high tech products such as top of the range racing bicycles. Ceramic balls run more smoothly with less friction and do not require lubrication. Ceramic balls are lighter. In Hales Micro blocks another advantage (possibly the most important) is that since ceramic balls are insulators, there is no metal to metal contact anywhere in the moving parts of the block. This absolutely removes the possibility of electrolytic corrosion. All Hales Micro blocks now contain ceramic balls.
